Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) System

Improving the quality of care for our Veterans with a modern, centralized Electronic Health Record.

Mission

The Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are jointly implementing a single, seamlessly integrated electronic health record (EHR) system that will accurately and efficiently share health data between the two agencies and ensure health record interoperability within the networks of supporting community healthcare providers. Bracari works in support of this mission to provide users with the best possible patient-centered EHR solution and related platforms in support of the lifetime care of our Service Members, Veterans, and their families.

Scope of work

Bracari leads cross-functional teams in software Design, Development, Integration, Testing and Deployment efforts focused on  the interfaces between the EHR and the vast network of legacy systems and data repositories within the VA.

OUTCOME

Bracari introduced an project management approach and technical estimation methodology to the distributed teams across the program, increasing development productivity across functional channels. This methodology brought insight to teams and leadership, enabling one functional team to crash the schedule for their initiative by over two months.

Bracari has also developed multiple custom applications integrated with the EHR that bridge the gap between commercial functionality native to the EHR and the VA's unique needs not seen in the public sector.
